Digital colourization of a promotional still of Louise Brooks in the 1929 film, The Canary Murder Case. This piece is, of course, a cropped version of my other piece entitled simply The Canary, with the title here being a multiple play on words: the image is “clipped” (cropped) from the original artwork; a bird can also have it’s feathers “clipped”; and in the film from which this still is from, Louise’s character get’s “clipped” (murdered), too!
